Tae Kwon Do

Taekwondo is a dynamic, modern Martial Art and Olympic Sport, characterised by its impressive range of fast kicking techniques. It has a history dating back thousands of years but is taught in a fresh, forward-thinking way.

The modern coaching methods encompass all the fitness training that its Tae-Bo and Kick-Aerobics spin-offs retained while still being an effective form of self-defence.

Besides fitness and self-defence, the UUJ club also offers students the opportunity to compete at a national and international level in both contact and non-contact competitions.

We train on Tuesdays at 8pm and Thursdays at 6pm in the Jordanstown Sports Centre Gym. All training takes place on a matted area in the gym. Beginners are welcome to join at any time of year. Wear loose fitting clothing such as t-shirts & shorts or a tracksuit. Ask at sports Centre reception or Sports Union office for more information.
