UUC Judo Club

Judo is very much a self defense based martial art, so not only are you having great craic whilst playing, you are also being taught valuable maneuvers that can be applied to real-life situations.

The UUC Judo Club is an avid participant in many tournaments such as the North-West Open, Irish Intervarsity Championships, British University Championships and the Northern Ireland Open.

There is also a strong social aspect to the UUC Judo Club (especially after tournaments) and there will be plenty of opportunities to see Ryan (Chairman) and Lisa-Marie dance very badly together.

We train on a Monday night in Biko Hall and beginners are more than welcome, the only charge is Sports Union Membership. Class begins at 7.30pm and is coached by the most respected Judoka in the country: Dr. Richard Briggs. With regards to kit a tracksuit or any old comfortable clothes will do.
