Rules and regulations for the use of Sport Centre Facilities-

  • Student applicants (categories 1-4 and 15-16) must produce a current student ID card before Sports Centre membership will be issued.
  • UU staff membership is available on production of UU ID or equivalent certification.
  • Graduate membership is available to award holders from the University of Ulster or from any of the former institutions – Ulster Polytechnic, NUU, Magee College, Ulster College. Certification of award must be produced.
  • Associate staff membership is available to persons working in the University but are employed by non University companies which are based on the campus permanently.
  • Members in categories 1-10 and 15-16 may use the facilities at any time, subject to availability.
  • Non University persons are invited to seek membership under categories 11-14. Such members may use fi tness suite, squash courts, tennis courts and synthetic pitch throughout the year at the times set aside for casual recreation. Use of sports halls and gymnasium is restricted to weekends and vacation periods otherwise the temporary membership fee will apply. The weekend is defi ned as starting at 2.00pm on Fridays.
  • For the purpose of family membership the family is defi ned as the applicant, his/her spouse/partner and their children aged under 18. Children aged 16 or under will not be permitted to use facilities unless accompanied by a parent/guardian or by a responsible adult who shall be deemed to be in charge of the child with the parent/ guardian’s consent.
  • Associate College membership is available to students from Newry and Kilkeel College of FE, North Down and Ards College of FE and North East Institute.
  • Applicants for Senior Citizen category of membership must be aged 60 or over. Birth Certificate or Retirement Pension Book to be produced for certification.
  • Members must produce Sports Centre membership cards at reception on each visit otherwise temporary membership fee will be charged or admission refused.
  • Members may bring one guest who must be declared as such and for whom the appropriate temporary membership fee must be paid. The guest must be accompanied at all times whilst in an activity area.
  • Members of the Sports Centre at Jordanstown may also use facilities on Coleraine and Magee campuses on production of membership card.
