The Awards
Full Colours For students achieving excellence in sport while demonstrating commitment to student sport.
International Colours For students who are not eligible for Full Colours but who have achieved excellence in sport at the highest senior international level while demonstrating commitment to student sport at the University of Ulster.
Half Colours For students achieving a high standard of performance in sport and demonstrating commitment to student sport.
Club Award Awarded to a student who has been consistently involved in the running of his/her Club for a period of not less than two years and who has shown initiative and commitment.
Service Award Awarded to a non-student who has been consistently involved in th running of a Club for a period of not less than three years and who has shown initiative and commitment.
Coaching Northern Ireland Ulster Coach of the Year This Award is for the person (student or non-student) who is regarded by the Colours Awards Committee as having made the most outstanding contribution to club sport at the University of Ulster through their role as a coach. This may be evidenced through performance, achievement, progression and/or commitment.
Sports Union Fresher of the Year Award For the first year students (1 per campus) who are regarded by the Colours Awards Committee as having shown enthusiasm, commitment and made the most significant contribution, whether as a participant or administrator/official, to their club.
Chris Lundy For the person who is regarded by the Colours Awards Committee as having made the most outstanding contribution to student sport during the year. The Award is for administration/organisation and playing ability is not a factor. Nominations will be considered for any student involved in a club at Coleraine or Magee.
Carson Clarke Award For the person who is regarded by the Colours Awards Committee as having made the most outstanding contribution to student sport during the year. The Award is for administration/organisation and playing ability is not a factor. Nominations will be considered for any student involved in a club at Jordanstown or Belfast.
Hurst Trophy For the most outstanding team in Coleraine and Magee based on competitive success.
Sports Union Team Trophy This trophy is awarded to the most outstanding team in Jordanstown and Belfast based on competitive success.
President's Plate Awarded to the individual who is considered by the Colours Committee as being the outstanding Sportsperson of the Year in Coleraine and Magee.
Silver Slaver Awarded to the individual who is considered by the Colours Committee as being the outstanding Sportsperson of the Year in Jordanstown and Belfast.
Convocation Award The Convocation Silver Rose Bowl will be awarded annually to a University team for outstanding achievement and excellence in their sport.
Convocation Merit Award This will be awarded annually for endeavour in the field of sport. |
